Girl's Camp

This years Stake Girl's Camp was at Camp Cedar Glen. It was a beautiful camp nestled in the cedars near historic Julian. The young women were really spoiled here. We had these great cabins with real beds. They had a great mess hall with all the meals cooked for them. And the food was delicious. We could soak up the sun at the fun, warm pool. We had a ton of activities to choose from. We could rock climb and repel on a huge climbing wall. We shot bows and arrows at the archery range. And the most famous spot was the ropes course. Here if you had enough courage could do the "leap of faith" jump. It was amazing to see how many young women and leaders attempted this course. Everyone was every encouraging and helped one another complete it. I even tried and I was scared to death at how high it was! We had a wonderful time in nature and grew closer to one another. It was such a great week!

"Jam"

Rob once told our kids, "The reason they call it jam is because, you put it on toast then you JAM it in your mouth!"  And he was right.
I love fresh, homemade Jam.  This summer I was determined to finally learn how to make it.  Allison took on this challenge with me and early one morning we set out to accomplish this goal.  We washed and cut and squashed and boiled and stirred and taste tested till we got it just right.  We had so many berries, we made a ton of jam and are happy to say our freezers are stocked full hopefully till next strawberry season.  I actually feel proud I made some fresh Jam with my very own hands it turned out to be pretty easy and it was fun to do!

"Swimming at Diane's"

Allison and I were invited to swim at our Blogging Friend Diane's house. Her sister Annemarie was visiting her. So, it was the perfect time to get together and have face to face time. All our kids got along famously. We ordered Pat and Oscar's and brought stuff to share for lunch. The kids swam all day and we talked and giggled all day. It was so much fun to get together in person than just blogging on a computer. We can't wait to do it again!

"Viva Las Vegas!"

"What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas!"  Not really, we had a great time for Rob & Allison's birthday.  We stayed at the Green Valley Ranch Resort just outside of Vegas.  It was perfect, we got the "Spa" feel without the "Vegas" feel.  We just went into town when we felt a little more adventurous.  While we were there we took advantage of the warm Las Vegas weather and layed on queen size beds by the pool all day soaking up the sun, reading books and magazines, taking naps and just plain relaxing.  One night Matt and I surprised the birthday kids with a limo that took us into the city for dinner (It was Allison's first time riding in a limo)!  We had such a good time we can't wait for another excuse to go back to the Green Valley Resort!  Rob, we have an anniversary in July... hint hint!

"Father's Day"

We just love our daddy! But, it's nice to have a day that is devoted just to him. The kids and I made him breakfast in bed and tried to spoil him all day. He loved getting all the sentimental cards expressing our love for him. The kids cards are always the best, they always make them by hand. We just feel so blessed to have him as the head of our household. He is such a loving father to our children and supports them with everything they choose to do. He is a great provider and protector. He always makes sure our needs are taken care of. And he is also still my boyfriend after all these years. He always treats me with respect and honors the covenants he made to me. Not a day goes by without him saying, "I love you". We know how lucky we are to have him for our Father and husband! Happy Father's day!

"All-Star Baseball Tournament"

It is always an honor when R.J. is voted on to the All-Star Baseball Team for the San Marcos League. He made it on to the team again this year. He was very excited, it's nice to see his hard work during the season pay off. Rob was also asked to help
coach the team too. I love seeing both my boys on the field with their uniforms on. I love that they both love this sport so much, it's a bond that just brings them closer together!

"Last Band Concert"

The school year is coming to an end and R.J. has his last SEMS Band Concert for the year. The concert was held at the Escondido Center for the Arts. It was a big deal. They showed a slide show from all the past years band activities. And all the kids performed all the songs they have learned through out the year. There was a huge difference from the first band concert at the beginning of the year. R.J. has learned so much. I can't believe it has only been one year. He has become such an accomplished musician. I just hope he continues develop this talent.
